Are you ready for our next adventure? Well I surely am and I have wanted to do this particular activity since it opened! What is it do you think?? The Lonely Planets’ 2nd best newest attraction in the world, The Cape Canopy Tours Zipline in the Elgin Valley near Grabouw in the Western Cape!
Whoop-whoop! It is such a thrill! I have always loved the thought of a zipline but I have been numerously let down by the ones I have experienced before Cape Canopy Tours opened and I have to tell you they all fall short in the presence of this recent zipline!
If you want an epic adventure that will leave you breathless, awed and a little sore the next day then this is just the thing for you! The trip will last more or less 4 hours where you will be zip-lining over waterfalls and through ravines. You will see the beautiful Hottentots Holland Nature Reserve all around you and seeing as the zipline is situated in the Nature Reserve you will also have two guides that will impart interesting facts about the geology and the nature of this beautiful part of our country.
It is R695 per person for each tour but if you are a wild card holder then you receive a R40 discount. There will be a 4 x 4 trip into the mountains after a briefing and fitting at the reception where the sliding will begin. There are 13 platforms that you will be sliding to with slides up to 320m long. After you reach the end of the slides you will need to hike back to the reception thus come in comfortable shoes and seeing as the Cape’s weather has a mind of its own please remember to bring warm clothes along. The tour includes a light lunch therefore you don’t need to bring any snacks with you.
All in all this is something you will always remember! You definitely will not be disappointed! So what are you waiting for?!
